Sounds of the Antarctic

Visuals for live orchestral performance of Ralph Vaughan Williams’ Sinfonia Antartica. In collaboration with Stewart Campbell (University of Sheffield) and George Morton (Rep Orchestra), with talks from Dr Joanna Buckley, Dr Jeremy Ely, Dr Julie Jones and Professor Grant Bigg. Commissioned as part of the University of Sheffield’s Festival of the Mind 2018.

Performed at The Octagon Centre, Sheffield (Sept 2018).

The visuals combined facts and animated sequences with excerpts from the diary of Robert Falcon Scott, charting the story of his ill-fated Terra Nova Expedition to Antartica between 1910-1913.
